CAPE COD AND ISLANDS COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMAN & NANTUCKET COMMUNITY SCHOOL – ENGLISH

The Cape Cod and Islands Commission on the Status of Women (CCICSW) will be hosting a listening circle at the Nantucket Community School on Saturday, October 23rd from 1:30-3:00 pm. This event is open to all women who live or work on Nantucket, allowing the Commission to hear about and to assess the needs of women on the island.

The mission of CCICSW is to provide a permanent, effective voice for women across Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. The Commission stands for fundamental freedoms, basic human rights, and the full enjoyment of life for all women throughout their lives. The purpose of CCICSW is to advance women toward full equity in all areas of life and promote rights and opportunities for all women.

Our listening circles are a way for CCICSW to hear from women to better understand the needs and concerns of women and families in our region, especially during this time of COVID and the movement for racial and social equality. All testimonies will be collected and used to help CCICSW prioritize our regional legislative advocacy, as well as guiding the state legislative efforts of the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women.
